As the artist of these 3 pieces, my main objective was separating a section of the picture from the background evenly to make it still look precise.
The tools I primarily used for this project was the move tool, brush tool, and quick selection tool.
To remove the picture from the background I had to find the darkest channel, and paint what I want to be separated from the back ground with black, and get the selection. In my opinion instead of painting the picture black I feel like painting it white worked better for me.
The advantages of using the Layer Mask to create the Double exposure effect is that you get a better selection.
For the Duo-Tone project I experimented with mixing the channels and Background colors, something different that I found that worked better was changing the color of the back ground to a color like black, to get the colors of the picture to pop out more.
